Natural medicines and therapies which are by-products of God’s creation bring healing to our bodies—not just suppress symptoms like drugs. They restore function and balance to our bodies. However, they are gentle therapies that only work well when used in conjunction with lifestyle reform (see my article New Start).
Samuel Hahnemann, M.D, the founder of the wonderful system of natural healing, homeopathy, told his patients and students that if homeopathy wasn’t effective it was often because the patient has obstacles to cure. Meaning, they were practicing unhealthy lifestyles or had other unhealthy practices.
I use the principle of removing the obstacles to cure as I educate my patients about natural healing.
The first obstacle to cure is, of course, any violation of the eight laws of health. Other unhealthy practices that can thwart the effectiveness of natural medicines and therapies are overuse of prescription drugs, eating non-organic food, eating in restaurants, the use of cosmetics, or other non-organic personal health products, wearing polyester clothing, overexposure to electromagnetic fields (like cell phones, wifi, and microwave ovens) being overweight or obese, etc.
For natural medicines and therapies to be effective and promote healing we need to live naturally as God intended thus removing all obstacles to cure.
